“Knitting from Tohoku” began shortly after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, when people were on the verge of losing the will to live. What started as a gathering formed through volunteer-led knitting workshops eventually became a source of hope for each participant, and they grew to become professional knitters.
Matsunoya commissions and sells their products out of a desire to share their exceptional hand-knitting skills with people across the country.
